Would you consider voting for Boehner were he to run for President in 2012?

I know, I know, it would be extremely difficult for a sitting Speaker to run for President, but that's beside the point. Recent events regarding the debt ceiling have shown, quite clearly, that John Boehner is a force to be reckoned with. He's had to deal with childish behavior by members of his own party and members of the Democrat party, as well as nothing but insults and jabs from Jimmy Carter Jr. (the President formerly known as Barack Obama.) Boehner has responded to these attacks by consistently taking the high road.

He's shown he holds considerable influence, and he seems like the most important man in Washington right now. He's not afraid to go head to head with anyone, even the President. Although his lack of executive leadership (gubernatorial, etc.) hurts him in the eyes of most credible voters, his leadership skills are undeniable. Obama's approval rating is a paltry 40%, and it seems unlikely he will be reelected--at least if the Republicans nominate a strong, quality candidate.

Would you vote Boenher in 2012 if the opportunity presented itself?

Update:

I feel like many of you are focusing on his aesthetic shortcomings (crying, tanning, etc.) Separate your personal opinions of a man from your opinions on his policies, please. Obama pledged higher taxes, and Boehner would not stand for it. I respect that a lot. All it takes is a bit of research into just how angry this debt ceiling resolution has made the majority of liberals to understand how effective Boehner was. Remember, he had NO support early on. Boehner has simply been trying to confront the debt ceiling problem right now, while Obama and the Democrat party wanted to prolong the issue for another few years so that they can (they hope) unilaterally enact policy and law that favors liberal fiscal ideals.

No. He has no leadership skills and no backbone. He allowed less than 60 people in his caucus cause him to abandon a very good deal with the President. Additionally, I would never, ever vote for a Republican under any circumstances.

Btw, let's take away his "aesthetic shortcomings," as you put it. The bottom line remains the same: You don't govern or lead by holding a nation hostage until you get what you want, hear.

Democrats and Republicans are the same.

The Central Government, run by bureaucratic servants called Democrats and Republicans, know that there is a 11% approval rate of the government by the US citizens. This is unacceptable to the Dems and Reps. They need away to show there power. So creating a fear atmosphere, will get the citizens attention. This will also let them portray the illusion they are doing something for the citizens that cannot be done without the government. I't is a forced recognition of power in all its tyranny.

One of the rules of war when facing a stronger enemy is to divide and conquer, rather then to attack your enemies force as a whole. Knowing that citizens and there constitutional freedoms/rights are a thee governments greatest enemy, creating a diversionary tactic such as Republican and Democrat would divide the governments enemies "citizens + constitutional freedoms/rights" Once divided, the enemy is far easier to conquer. In this case, when we are divided, the Central Government can take away freedoms/rights, and implement tyrannous laws a lot easier than if we were united.

Vote for ANYONE else besides Democrats or Republicans. I't can be anyone ranging from a third party candidate to Mickey Mouse. Just don't vote for Democrats or Republicans. They were bought and paid for a long time ago by bureaucrats. When Dems or Reps are elected, they serve the interests of the transnational corporations that paid for them to get elected, not the citizens. I't is the greatest acting out of a "good cop bad cop" scenario in history. Just remember. The Tea Party is the Republican Party.

"I'f your a multi-billion dollar transnational corporation and you pay for only, 1 President + 435 Congressmen + 100 Senators + 9 Supreme Court Justices, then you have complete and total power over 350,000,000+ citizens and all there resources." WTF!!!

Nah he's been a little childish himself, and i don't think he or his members in the house or the politicians in his party have exactly been cooperative, though were using stubbornness to their advantage until a deal more in their favor was signed for the sake of saving the US and then want to claim that they "won" and that it was all them and the were the good guys the whole time. I'm not saying all the blame goes to them but this can't be seen as a high point or a win for the republicans and John Boehner.

Considering it took him 7 months to get a budget deal done, he stood up and made all kinds of claims about how he wouldn't compromise, and then caved, plus he couldn't even pass his first or second or even third bill with the support of his own party (some leader there) there is now way I would vote for the weeping oompa loompa.

If I was extremely wealthy yes Boehner would be a good choice as that is the base he represents. However despite that I have always had problems with the mispronunciation of his name (should be spelt Bainer) the orange tan and the crying.

Will she paintings with the left and enhance rules like she did in Alaska? Will champion Cap and commerce like she did in 2007? Will she study herself to Barack Obama as she did in her Alaskan governors race? Will she help Unions? Todd is a union member.

Why? He couldn't control his own party.

He allowed a right wing fringe group run roughshod over his party. If he can't lead the Republican Party, how could he possibly lead the nation?

He just played a key roll in selling out his country and crushing what's left of the dollar. Why would I vote for another lying scumbag.

As an Independent, no I wouldn't. Just because someone stands firm in his beliefs doesn't mean he will make good decisions.
