But then again, the age of consent where I am is 16, and I'd make sure you were older than yours before starting anything with him.

Well, in my opinion NO! I met my husband when I was 16 and he wes 21 (5yrs difference just the same as you) and everyone told us it would never work, (including our families) but we were married about 18months later ( I was 18 he was 23) and that was 40yrs ago!!!! we are still happily married and hope to continue for many years to come (god willing) so go for it and I hope it all works out for you both, good luck and God bless

lol JK but seriously, mm, doesn't seem really that bad. Better than a sixteen-year-older going out with a twenty-one-year-old guy. (My friend is.) Seems pretty good.

If you waited until next year, when your older (even though he's a year older too), I don't think it's bad at all. I know a 12 grader who dated a 8 grader and it was a good relationship.

To me there is nothing wrong with that. Parents might be a little freaked out. It'd be easier if you were 18, that doesn't mean much but then parents aren't able to butt in.

I don't think that is too old. My dad is 9 years older than my mom.

Uhh I think you should at least wait till your 18 to start anything with him.
