IndyCar: Round 11, Mid-Ohio, who ya got?
A week off and IndyCar returns to the States this weekend for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid Ohio. Will Poweris still the main storyline, looking to gain more ground on Dario Franchitti. But the closest battle in points going into Lexington is that only 41 points separate Tony Kanaan in 4th and Helio Castroneves & JR Hildebrand who are tied for 9th. Just for an idea, Franchitti leads Power by only 38, so covering 7 drivers in that span (and a little change, of course), makes a bad race for one driver could easily lead to the loss of several positions.
Despite the close battle for best of the rest, I don't see any of those drivers breaking through to victory lane on Sunday. I predict Will Power to win pole, as he is still dominant in qualifying, and is the defending pole sitter at the course. But Scott Dixon will get his first victory of 2011 this weekend, rather late (for him), but just as sweet. Dixon has made the Firestone Fast Six each of the past four years, and has finished in the top 5 each of those years, with two wins. This is probably his best track, and I believe he will add to his good results this time around.
What about you, who ya got?
Also, anyone expect the double file restarts to be awful? Being the main straight is so short and cars will still be heading through the carousel, it should be another irritating day for TGBB.
Also, @Jay: My dad and I actually were talking with SeaBass in Alabama this spring. He said he's glad to be back, but the 19 team was put together so last minute that many, if not most of the team had no previous experience with IndyCars. And on a team like Dale Coyne that is so tight on budget (I can't confirm this but Alex Lloyd very well may have saved the team financially by qualifying in the final moments for the Indy 500), it's very hard to put together a solid crew. He said they've been essentially starting from scratch at every race, but the Frenchy is still quite a driver, and every time he can put together a top 10, they should consider it a win. If he stays in IICS in the future, I have no doubts we'll see him winning again.

I agree, Will Power is just perfect on the road courses, but Dixon is going to be tough. Despite loosing his pole streak to Sato, I think he will get the pole and dominate the race. Having said that, Power has had horrible luck, and the person running behind him (who I think could be Castroneves) may be able to capitalize.

I'm going to say Will Power for the win, and another top 5 for Helio.

Will Power is also my first pick, but Mid-Ohio can get crazy. Maybe we'll see someone unexpected in victory lane. Where's Bourdais? Sooner or later, I believe he will remember how to get back in the winner's circle.

Will Power is having a stellar year, and has been dominant on road courses this year. I like him again this weekend.
