1. Switch off the computer.
2. Remove the power cable from SMPS (power supply).
3. If possible remove all wires from the back side of the computer casing (if you are biginner - then take a Snap with a digital camera before removing the cables).
4. Now open the side flap of your computer / desktop.
5. You can easyli found the CMOS - battery situated in the Mother board - it most likely - looks like a 50 Paisa Coin.
6. very gentely remove the old one and put the new one in place of it.

That's a very wide question, as there are thousands of different motherboards out there so giving orecise instructions won't be possible without more detail.
You don't specify if your computer is a laptop or a desktop / tower computer. The following assumes it's a desktop / tower only.
The first thing you should consider, is if the computer is within warranty (assuming you've bought it off-the-shelf). If it is, you should allow the retailer to carry out the work for you.
If you are technically capable to taking on this task, then fine! If not, consider asking a friend who is technically capable to do the work for you.
If you really want to do this yourself, open up the computer, and, without moving / disconnecting anything, try and see if you can spot your battery (akin to a watch battery, but slightly flatter and wider in circumference). If you have to disconnect / remove items from the case, make a careful note of what you remove and keep the sequence, as when you have finished, you'll have to reverse the sequence.
Disconnect the power supply and make sure you earth yourself before you touch anything inside the computer.
The battery (usually a CR2032 but make a positive check before buying the replacement) is held in place by a small spring. it will dis-lodge quite easily. make a note of which side was face-down, and duplicate that when placing the new battery.
You should then reverse any sequence used to takes things out, put the side back on and set the time correctly!

Mike

The battery on the motherboard is about the size of a quarter- and it just snaps into place- take the old one off and get battery size number- something like cr-2032. Radio Shack will have a replacement.
