Laws concerning unsubscribing?

Have been receiving email ads from an ad company and have unsubscribed a number of times but they still send ads. Who would you file a complaint with.

Spam email ( mail from people you dont know) is 80% of all email sent. I doubt there is a law on unsubscribing as not many people do that. And they could say it was an electronic error of some kind. You'd get nowhere with it.

Most people do not open spam because it often contains malware that you visibly cant see ..viruses/ spyware, as well as, scams of all sorts.

Clicking unsubscribe on a spam email..lets them know they have someone that opens spam and reads it. Often they sell your address to other networks email spammers.

The way you handle this ..

When you see an email in your inbox from someone you dont want mail from. You put a check in the box next to the mail on your inbox list. Then click the spam button.

That way its marked as spam w/o you opening it.

    OR

On your inbox page.. Go to Options> Mail Options>Spam

Put their address in the box to Block addresses.

This is the way you stop them. Never respond to spam email.

If these are already in you spam folder..thats where they should be and you shouldnt be. Only reason to every go to your spam folder, is about every 3-4 days ..briefly scan down the list and make sure nothing good went there in error. While there on that Options> Spam..set your filters better too.
