All you need to do is practice A LOT! Perhaps you can buy a mini ball (size 1) and kick it around the house only using your left foot. It sounds silly, but it's very effective. Also just do regular dribbling and kicking drills using your left foot. It will be hard at first but if you keep practicing you will get better at it. You can also cut in more with your right foot during games.

All you can do is coach yourself and practice until it becomes second nature. The reason your right foot is better is because you have been using it all your life so it is in better shape. The solution is to possibly wear ankle weights for long periods of time. Im talking days. And you should see the strength and maneuverability of that foot.
But the best training is getting out on the field and dribbling with your left.

Set up practice shots with friends where you are the goalie. Cover the goal as you would normally, trying to prevent as many shots as possible, but...
...ONLY use your left foot to block shots!
You may also make it more interesting by telling your friends to only use their left feet as well.
Anybody who uses their right foot has to sit out for 30 seconds.
And with all your friends, play an entire game, among yourselves, only using your left feet.
Keep doing this every day possible and soon you will find your left as good as your right on the field if not better.

I agree with everybody else, that being in great shape, keeping up on your footskills, and being open-minded are all very important. But, being the captain of my varsity soccer team, I would highly recomend watching what some of the older players are doing, and trying to be a step ahead of them, without showing off too much. Of course you want to impress your coach, but, older players will make it difficult for your to be impressive if they feel like you are just trying to get the coach's attention. Finally, remember why you are trying out. If you truly love soccer, it will show in your try-outs! Good Luck to you!
