Mitch McConnell said "The single most important thing is for Obama to be a one-term president". Why?

Not just McConnell, Boehner and Cantor also said it. And the thing is, it wasn't a secret party memo, it wasn't something that just slipped out. They said it on purpose, right into microphones. They are actually admitting that gaining control is more important to them than doing the job they were elected to do, running the country, healing the economy. They call themselves 'patriots' but clearly they put party above country.

When a Democrat gets elected president, the GOP goes into a 4 year long temper tantrum. They refuse to cooperate with a Democratic president because they know he gets most of the credit for anything achieved through bipartisan cooperation. So instead their entire strategy is to make him fail. They don't care what damage they might do to the country in the process. This is nothing new--they treated Clinton the same way, and Carter.

i'd say Patriotic! Obama has been responsible of Treason and has broken his oath as President. US debt up 50%,blatant corruption, destroying the economic gadget, breaking Constitutional standards, and entire sell out of our united states to the UN. Obama is a sparkling threat to the rustic. He has to circulate. BTW, we are heading in the direction of growing to be a third international united states because has been his desperate objective!

Bachmann, Boehner and Canter also said it. Yes, it's party before country. But the overall reason has nothing to do with politics. If I tell you why, I'll get reported. But just think about why their objection with Obama borders on hatred.

No they just want us to go into a deep depression. They've been obsessed for 70 years trying to get rid of all the New Deal programs. They want a do over.

Because the GOP values power above everything else. Who cares if the Dow is at 7,000? As long as we have power, it's all good.

GOP has always put the GOP before the USA.

Of course they are. Those are cushy chairs they got up there in the Senate.
