17 AnswersPolitics5 years agoIs it standard to tip on a furniture delivery?
We are at a point in our lives that we can afford to hire professional movers. Is it standard to tip them? In addition to the professional movers packing and moving stuff to our new home, we will also have new furniture delivered, so do we tip them as well? Sorry to sound so dumb about this, but the only delivery service I have experience with is the pizza delivery folks lol which I do tip for their services. Thanks!

1 AnswerMilitary6 years agoWearing weights on ankles when walking...?
My joints are fine, just wondering what the popular thought is on wearing leg weights to help burn some extra calories during a power walk...like 5 lbs per ankle at the most. Thanks.

8 AnswersPolitics6 years agoChinese rice noodles, calorie content?
I like Chinese rice noodles...the ones I get at a particular restaurant are dry, not drenched in sauce. But they are fried in a wok, correct? So am thinking they are probably not ideal for someone who is counting calories. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks.

1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs7 years agoTraining at Ft. Hunter Ligget...communication?
My wife is in the Reserves and will be attending a training exercise at Ft. Hunter Liggett. The last time she was there (in 2010) she had no trouble getting cell phone reception to call home. Now, she is being told that "nobody" gets any cell phone service out there, no signal blah blah. Anyone been recently or know about this? Thanks.
3 AnswersMilitary7 years agoWhy do people follow me on twitter?
lol seriously though...I created an account so that I could follow OTHERS (mostly news sources and a few sports figures). I never tweet, and rarely retweet. I didn't make a profile that would draw attention to me, so unsure of the point behind people following me. It's not a bother. I just wonder why? Thanks.
3 AnswersFacebook7 years agoThe Pope and Obama were standing on a stage in front of thousands...?
The Pope leans towards President Obama and said, "Do you know that with one small wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary
display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"
Obama replied, "I seriously doubt that! With one little wave of your hand....Show me!"
So the Pope backhanded him and knocked him off the stage!
AND THE CROWD ROARED & CHEERED WILDLY and there was happiness throughout the land!
*nervously awaiting a knock on my door by the feds*
2 AnswersGovernment8 years agoTips on keeping a white sweater from turning yellow?
Do any of you have tips on keeping white knits and sweaters from yellowing? Any special products or actions to take when washing? I'm not talking about just getting stains out, but also just to keep from (or slowing down) the fabric turning yellow. Thanks!
5 AnswersCleaning & Laundry8 years agoolive oil to dissolve ear wax?
Anyone ever hear of this as a remedy to get rid of ear wax? My son has a bit of ear wax that seems to bother him, and I don't want to stick anything in his ear to try and clear it out. He freaked out at the dr's office when the dr tried to pick it out, so he recommended a drop of olive oil, saying it would dissolve the ear wax. Just wondering if any of you have tried it and how it worked out for you. Thanks.
3 AnswersOther - Health9 years agoHow old was your child when they learned to do basic computer skills?
My almost- 4 year old son knows how to download free games to both my iPhone and lap top lmao! He hasn't figured out how to play them all, but he does play some. I've been letting him tinker with my phones and laptops since he was about 18 months, never showed him how to do any of it but am sure he must have watched what I was doing and just learned just from observation. Wow...kids are way smarter than I gave credit for

Military9 years agoMaking welfare recipients work for their benefits...?
I understand there is a program in Germany that calls for welfare recipients to work at various public services (such as picking up trash on public roads) in order to receive benefits. Does anyone know more about these programs? I think it would be great here in the USA but know that many here would just shoot it down as being "unfair" or something like that.
14 AnswersPolitics9 years agoUsing hot rollers for big bouncy curls...?
I am on my husband's Y!A account..
I have layered dark brown, slightly wavy, medium thickness hair. Am going for a sophisticated professional look, and was thinking about using hot rollers to get soft yet bouncy curls. Just wanted to know what you ladies think...outdated? Or too after 5-ish? Or too church-ish?
I work in the legal department of a large teaching institution, and am wanting to change up my look. Thanks
