Is it standard to tip on a furniture delivery?
We are at a point in our lives that we can afford to hire professional movers. Is it standard to tip them? In addition to the professional movers packing and moving stuff to our new home, we will also have new furniture delivered, so do we tip them as well? Sorry to sound so dumb about this, but the only delivery service I have experience with is the pizza delivery folks lol which I do tip for their services. Thanks!

I'm in the U.S. I've given BIG tips to movers. They work so hard, they deserve it. As for furniture/appliance delivery, it depends how hard it is, if they are removing old furniture, if they've been especially nice, etc.

Y!A is accessible all over the earth. In some countries it is completely uncommon to tip for those services since the people who are doing it get paid adequately. In others tipping is common since people are paid minimum wages and they are depending upon tips. Please name the country concerned when you ask questions on an international forum like Y!A.

Most of the people who will pack and load the truck are just part time workers, who get occasional work doing this. If you think they were efficient and careful you can tip them.

Just tip them. They'll appreciate it and worked very hard for you to be able to move to your new home.

I've never done it, nor even heard of it. But, I don't live in the USA, where tipping is big.

I do and how much generally depends on how much work is involved, lifting, stairs, etc etc. and are they on time, clean, efficient etc.
