Training at Ft. Hunter Ligget...communication?
My wife is in the Reserves and will be attending a training exercise at Ft. Hunter Liggett. The last time she was there (in 2010) she had no trouble getting cell phone reception to call home. Now, she is being told that "nobody" gets any cell phone service out there, no signal blah blah. Anyone been recently or know about this? Thanks.

OK my husband just got back from FHL and in certain areas you will get limited service. He has Tmobile and had to walk up a little hill to get service and if she is on main post she whould be able to get some service. Also I have been there with AT& T and sometimes you get service. I would have her bring the phone just in case, but don't worry if she doesn't contact you every day it's because she if far in the field and will have no service. Again you are correct no restriction on Cell phones, not sure what mrsjvb is talking about she surely doesn't know about FHL or the Army Reserves and how we roll. So again don't worry and I would also make sure she has extra battery just in case.. He told me it's very HOT up there as well and cool in the evening to make sure she gets a packing list from the 1SG

Service is decent in some areas and non-existent in others. She will be allowed to have her phone there, even in the field. Maybe she just doesn't want to talk to you while she's away. :)

she is not there to have a cell connection. if she is in the field they won;lt be allowed to have their phones anyway.
