Chinese rice noodles, calorie content?
I like Chinese rice noodles...the ones I get at a particular restaurant are dry, not drenched in sauce. But they are fried in a wok, correct? So am thinking they are probably not ideal for someone who is counting calories. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks.

A cup would come to about 230 calories if a teaspoon of sesame oil was used. The noodles themselves are about 190. That small amount of oil adds another 40. Obviously that doesn't include anything else you add to them. That's around the same amount of calories as a bowl of cereal with milk.

Those stir fried rice noodles sticks have low caloric count than those egg noodles, or noodles drenched in gooey sauce and gravies. It all comes down to how much you eat. For example, I like those Chinese rice noodles stick stir fried with beans sprouts, julienned carrots with shrimp and egg. I say around 280 calories in a 9" plate.

despite the ban on "fats" in our diets, why do you suppose everyone who avoids all "fats" in their diets is always starving, has dry itchy skin and dandruff? It is because they have believed the food gurus and eliminated all "fats" from their diets!
Fats are surprisingly NOT fattening nor do they cause weight gain or heart disease, etc. They sate hunger faster and for longer than any other item we could be eating.
A little fat such as on your rice noodles, which are fried in peanut oil at proper temperature, have less than a tablespoon of fat in about 10 pounds of them!! And since a serving is a couple ounces, cooked, the amount of peanut oil is negligable!
