Wouldn't it be a good idea to tax the rich now and even things out with the debt limit increase?

Republicans and Tea Baggers "Smart" Recovery List:

1) Renew bush tax cuts (didn't work)

2) Cut spending by cutting jobs (raising unemployment percentage)

3) Cut more jobs (still not working)

4) Cut even more jobs ( still not working)

5) What's next Republicans and Teabaggers??????

Update:

Republicans chanted for the "Bush Tax Cuts" to be renewed, so the Democrats gave them their wish!

    Liberal ideas:

Raise taxes, spend more. Didn't work. Stimulus is now an example of spectacular; perhaps epic, failure. No budget, no plan, just complaints and whining over how the government isn't stealing enough on their behalf. A pathetic existence that is embraced by those who are left with the reality that their life is a failure and they need someone's labor value to sustain them.

And why did you mention teabaggers? Your personal behavior is your business.

Didn't work because the original cuts were not simply voted on to be extended but were unconstitutionally started inthe democratic controlled senate. ALL matters of revenue ate supposed to start with the house. Furthermore, the tax breaks wete more than erased by ADDED pork government spending. The distorted bill included tings such as peanut research in Alabama. Anyone ever heard of George Washington Carver? He researched the peanut to the end in the south because of a bug called the boll weavel. How about research in Vermont to find out why their grapes are sour. Enough on that one, the republicans only want to cut government not jobs. We only control 1/3 of the government, the senate is controlled by democrats and have turned down every deal that would create jobs and a stronger American dollar. The "rich" or top 5% of America already produce 70+% of ALL revenue collected. Check the tax schedule alone. Then look at the matching funds paid for employees on ssi and medicaid. Then unemployment benefits, workman's compensation insurance that averages at 28% of the gross wages of all employees, licences and more. You start choking more and you get companies in mass exodus from the U.S. and those are the facts about what is really going on.

    Nice try.

But as usual for a Liberal you got everything wrong in your rush to condemn Republicans and the Tea party.

First President Obama and Democrats extended those tax cuts.

And if they haven't worked it isn't because of the tax cuts in itself but because of the debt problem. Those who create jobs are worried about the stability of our government and therefore the markets.

When the government is in trouble the market goes down because investors protect their assets in part through risk mitigation.

And as for the rest of your little propaganda bit. Republicans didn't cut jobs employers did.

So numbers 2 through 5 are just more Liberal lies.

And as for the constant use of the word Tea Baggers I thought you guys didn't like people to use such terms so why do you?

I guess like everything else it is OK if a Liberal does it right?

My my, you are losing at every turn there.

Your Democrats voted to keep the tax cuts. Politicians cannot personally "cut jobs" unless you count by overtaxing them and screwing the economy--again, Dems had a supermajority and screwed you to the wall on that one. Those shovel-ready jobs didn't exist and Obama admitted it. It's your own simple mind that allowed you to fall for it. For us "teabaggers" as you call us, we also have an endearing term for you...doggiebaggers---because we need them to clean up the mess you so joyously leave and refuse to clean up after or take responsiblity for.

*socialistagenda.....really? Well then, okay at least you admit it CK. But newsflash, most of America does not want to live under the gun to your head system that you advocate.

You just got $2 Trillion to spend in the next 13 months - isn't that enough for Liberals?

America = Greece Did you notice that Greece didn't simply raise taxes to "fix" things?

It's not the Republicans or Tea Party or Democrats. America has no industry (to speak of), so their economy is collapsing. It's simple really.

Obama has announced a task force to review the tax codes. He's concerned there are too many loopholes and too many people manipulating the system to avoid paying taxes. And that's just in his administration.

You hit the nail right on hit head. I applaud you.

What I find funny is that under Eisenhower, the tax rate on the wealthy was 90% and the economy was the best it has ever been. Also, under the other presidents like Kennedy, Johnson, even Nixon the rate was 70%. Up until the Vietnam War and the OPEC crisis our economy was the best it has ever been.
