How Long Should I Wait To Dye My Hair After Getting A Relaxer?

I'm going to put in one of those at-home relaxers that you buy from the drugstore, and i'm planning on dying my hair and getting low-lights/high lights at the salon, probably red, maybe like this:

I've heard that you should typically wait 2-3 weeks, but since i'm not going to be dying my whole head, i'm wondering if the wait is about the same, or a little shorter. I'm asking this because i want to know when i should put the relaxer in, because i want to dye my hair sometime before September 6th when school starts back up.

2 weeks.  I always do relaxer 1st so it won't strip the dye.

first of all,if you are going to get your hair relaxed,you ALWAYS do the coloring FIRST.
its best to wait 3 weeks before relaxing it
