02 dodge 2500 dash and park lights dont work?
I was working on installing the lights on my auto meter gauges and I accidently touched the hot and ground and popped something. I have the lights of the gauges tapped into dash so they dim with the dash. I have checked EVERY fuse that has light, illum, ect shown in the diagram and every single one is good. Headlights work, but the rest don't want to. I have checked both boxes the one by the dash and the one under the hood.
Any help at this point would be greatly apreciated.
Please dont scream about why I was wiring with the battery hooked up and the headlight switch in the on position. I myself am not 100% sure. I was installing new sockets because two were bad and I didnt turn the light back off after checking which one worked.
I did a little bit of testing, there is lack of power at the illumination fuse, and that is as far as I have got.
What I have found is that it somehow ruined the switch. I have power at everyfuse EXCEPT the illum one. So I will pick up a switch tomorow and see if that takes care of the issue

A little troubleshooting is in order here. Just use a test light or meter and start from your initial splice back to the fuse box and see where the fault is.
Once you find it, fix it. The hardest part is finding the fault and the only way to do so is to work methodically back from where the power is lost to where you again find power. Then carefully search for the fault in that area.
I know this sounds simplistic, but it's the only way to proceed and achieve your goal.
