Hey Blondie, The dealer can make a new key for your car. However, you need the title to show ownership and since you did not mention the year I'm not sure if the key is chipped or not. The newer vehicles need to have the key programmed to the car immobilizer so that means you need a cheap key cut to open the car so the tow truck driver can load the vehicle on his flatbed to take it to the dealer for programming. Now you see why I always give friends BS about not getting another key made when they only have one! Big pain in the butt! (and they never listen!)

yes usually the vin number will work. if not take the lock tumbler out of the trunk lock in and they can make one from it.
