would his nose grow, shrink, grow fat, disappear, explode?

Nothing would happen/his nose would stay the same. And it's real easy to understand. You cannot lie in question form. Lies can only be expressed in statement form. You can delay something from happening by phrasing it as a question but it does not make it a lie. And for you theorists out there - simply because you know the answer to the question does not mean that you are lying by asking it. Questions require answers and it is the answers that are lies. I can see where your head is at though.

The quick answer: it would grow. Here's why:
He told the truth, because he knew the future of the question, therefore, it would stay the same, (for only a moment though), making it a lie, therefore it would grow.

it is called as a paradox. It's the same when you say," I'm lying"
