Hormones Killed my Sex drive!!!!?

How the heck did you transexuals (male to female) go through this crap? My doctor gave me just 2mg of estriadol per day and 100 mg of spironolactone (just for now) and Ive been using it for three months and guess what?? No erection AT ALL, no sexual pleasure, cant masturbate, I can watch porn all day long and its just like watching a movie (might as well get some popcorn and sleep while watching) Even if I play with my dick its like playing with my nose or ears (NO FEELING AT ALL). I cant live like this?? Is this going to last like that??? NO sexual pleasure no erection at all? Im planning on keeping my penis though Im not going to do the GRS surgery Im keeping my genitals. WTF??

I sympathize, but now you know why wives tell their husbands that they have headaches and are too tired to have sex all the time. The fact is, women just don't have nearly as much of a sex drive as men do due to the effect of testosterone. The thing is though, you've been taking these meds for 3 months now, right? Have you not tried to masturbate at all since you started? If so, sorry, but it's partially your fault then. You either use it or lose it. If you don't masturbate and "exercise" your erectile tissue while you're on t-blockers, you will start losing the ability to have erections at all. If it's that important to you, it's probably not too late to stop hormones for just long enough for testosterone to help you regain your ability to have erections, but at the same time, you're taking a risk of stunting your female puberty. It's up to you.

  • Wow! Just... WOW! I almost have to believe this is a troll. Why in the name of holy hell would you be taking these drugs if you weren't a Transsexual woman? What Trans woman who is Transitioning isn't aware of the changes that take place from HRT???

First of all, dear, if you were truly female in mind, you'd realize that arousal for women isn't a strictly mechanical act. If a female is not in the right mental/emotional state of mind, she doesn't get aroused. This is pretty common knowledge, even among men. Because Trans women are running on testosterone before they Transition, their sex drives tend to be more like those of a male, but for most Trans women, this is a great source of distress and guilt.

Second, women are typically not turned on by purely visual stimuli. Ask any woman and she will probably tell you that staring at porn by itself isn't particularly arousing. There's a reason they make Playboy for men, and romance novels for women. For women, it's rarely just as simple as "rubbing the right parts."

Third, what sort of imbecile doctor would give you these meds without explaining the consequences?

This whole story (and I emphasize STORY) stinks to high trolldom. If you really are serious, then I suggest you sit down with whatever therapist wrote your HRT letter and demand a refund, because clearly you're not a Trans woman, or a woman PERIOD.

Your sex drive dropped because cyproterone blocks the activity of androgens (male hormones, like testosterone).

If you want to be a woman just why do you want to have a hard on? I think that you jumped the gun on this. I think that it was only a fantasy to you in becoming a girl. It all depends on how much of a dose you took & for how long. You might not get back any sensitivity if you stopped. Its like chemical castration at times. I really think you goofed up on this one. Just how in the heck did you manage to pass all your shrink's tests?

But I thought that as a transexual you WOULDN'T want an erection because you think you're a girl inside and you want a vagina?am I missing something becuase usually a transexual doesn't like the 'package' and want to be a woman.seems like you really don't,so stop before you go sterile.

That can be seen as a sign that your not actually transsexual! As a female, why would you want an erection? Oestrogen and hormone blockers are meant to remove the male sex drive and give you one of a woman.

    Yep

My sex drive dropped, and personally, I never missed it one bit. I hated erections and don't miss them at all. It was easy for me. And for me it as permanent, with the occasional rare erection (which was disturbing for me) But i have long since had SRS, permanently solving that problem

You would need to speak to your endo and your gender therapist about this.

Perhaps you should go on a lower dosage

the first real gender test is hormones and their effect on you. if you like what they do to you, you're on the right track. i was delighted. i felt *right*.

if you don't like what they do to you, you may want to reconsider your plans.

you sound surprised. didn't your doctor discuss hormonal effects with you?
