Is it just me, or did The radio lose....?

..to the instant music now generation,of internet radio, satellite radio etc. I mean I grew up listening to KMET 94.7 and KLOS 95.5 in Los Angeles.when you listened, It was like an event. You knew you were listening along with others, and it was a shared conscious. Now theres no camaraderie. No shared environment. Am I wrong, or am I just getting old?

Update:

I will say KROQ 106.7 in L.A and The X 105.5 Here in Vegas are sort of close to what radio used to be,But not quite.

Update 2:

Yeah maybe,My 1st concert was the US Fest In '83,and MY last few were 311 in 2003 and The Church in 2005

wrong and getting too old. you still listen along with others except many more others, globally. A global shared conscious.
