Can someone a list me jobs that have to do with saving, protecting, or taking care of animals besides a vet?

There is a huge amount, aside from what every one else says biological control is a good one it involves the eradication of pest species naturally, ie: increasing natural predators and using natural oils etc. It mightn't sound like protecting animals but it is creating methods that don't use harsh chemicals that will affect other species and the environment.

Habitat conservation and fisheries management are also pretty interesting. If you want to get some work experience to get an idea you should apply to volunteer at a local wildlife trust or nature reserve, they are always looking for help and the people there can give you good advice and you will make some good contacts for the future.

Working at a zoo would be a great opportunity but from my experience it can be quite difficult and competitive to get into and usually they want you to have previous experience and a good knowledge of different animals, and by a good knowledge I mean a zoology degree or something similar.

i would say conservation work would be your best bet, and you all learn something new
