What files are uploaded while downloading torrents? Will my personal files also upload?

What files are uploaded while downloading torrents? Will my personal files also upload? For example my buisness files or family pictures. Will hiding these files stop them from upload? If not - what's the solution?

Only the torrent you are downloading is uploaded to other users so that they can too download the same and no personal files or any other data is uploaded!
