whose mother does Beyonce refer to in the song "who run the world" ?

Question

she repeated "who run this mother?" many times. Did she refer to her own mother i.e. Mrs.Knowles? Or any mother in the world in general? Or any figurative mother like motherland/mothership? In this contex "run" means "control". I don't think any mother will let their girls (daughter) control them. Pls advise.

Well, apparently, you are just as bad. Here you are losing your **** when women say they "run the world" just like they (according to you) do when men say they run the world. I was expecting this question to say "Feminists here like the song from Beyonce "Who runs the world? (girls) but.... in the video, Beyonce is prancing around like a tart in barely any clothes objectifying women's image" which would have made more sense to me and probably would have agreed. Can't stand Beyonce anyway and that song is really, really terrible. I'd rather listen to Gangnam Style.
