Is there a Difference in Speed between the Intel Atom N550 and the Intel Atom N570 Processors?

Thinking of buying an Asus Eee PC, but stuck between the 1018P and the 1015PX. The 1015PX has an Intel Atom N570, as opposed to the 1018P's Atom N550. There is a 0.32GHZ difference in processor speed between the two. Both have 1GB RAM, identical Intel GMA 3150 Graphics, etc. Only other difference is that the 1015PX doesn't have the brushed Aluminium palm rest that the 1018P does, it's a bit thicker than the 1018P, and it's around £30 cheaper. Both processors are dual core.

Go to this link to compare the processors side-by-side: http://ark.intel.com/compare/50154,55637

Would a 0.32GHZ processor speed difference make a noticeable impact on day-to-day use of the machines?

I would be using the netbooks for word-processing, light gaming, and internet browsing, as well as viewing photos, light video editing (i.e. Windows Movie Maker), photo editing (Picasa) etc. Which of the netbooks would be better for these tasks?

Update:

Just thought - Would it make a difference in being able to stream HD video / speed of streaming video, or with the playing of standalone files. I know that neither processor is capable of 1080p HD, but the N570 is capable of 720p HD.

Is the N550 capable of 720p HD, and would it make a difference which processor I went with in terms of video streaming?

As far as specks are concerned... yes the N550 is clocked at 1.5Ghz, whereas the N570 is clocked at 1.66Ghz. Both are Dual core with HT. The difference in speed would not be significant and would not be noticeable for most uses.

EDIT: I am running a Zotac MiniMAG as an HTPC streaming video and movies to my TV in 1080P... it has the N550 and has no problems running XBMC for the movies. I do however run Linux... not Windows... With Windows it did NOT run 1080P well... but with Linux... No Problems.

they are completely 2 distinctive training of CPU. The atom processor is a comedian tale whilst in comparison with a center 2 duo processor. The atom processor runs 40 seven million transistors mutually as the middle 2 duo has 291 million transistors. this is a huge huge difference in computing ability...of course a million center 2 duo is comparable to a sprint over 6 atom processors.

    Intel Atom N570

newer editions should have better peripheral interfaces (USB3.0)

    NVIDIA ION 2 Graphics

use ArcSoft Total Media Theatre Software
