Frozen and canned are about equal to fresh because they are canned and frozen the same day they are picked. In fact, in many cases they are better.
Unless you grow your own or are sitting at the farmers market when the vendors arrive, you have no idea where your 'fresh' veggies came from in the store. Or how old they are.
In the winter, some stores fresh veggies are as old as a week or more. It is common knowledge that veggies start to lose nutrients the minute they are picked. So what do you think is left after a week in transit and storage and than a few more days in your fridge before you get around to eating it?
All home food preservers know the rule is pick it and then go directly to canning or freezing the produce for peak flavor and beat outcome.
There have been many studies done and the nutritional amount is the same for fresh, frozen or canned.
Folks have survived for many many years on canned and frozen veggies. When I was a kid, you ate all the fruits and veggies you wanted all summer long because in the winter all there was available was what mom canned and even the stores didn't carry much beyond apples and oranges.
We survived quite well.
People now are spoiled with the variety available but that was NOT always the case....and yet we survived.
EDIT: Look at labels on canned veggies. There is nothing but salt added to them either. You do not need organic canned to get vaggies that don't have odd ingredients. All you have to do is read the darn label.

depends what you're getting. i buy frozen spinach, canned tomatoes, canned beans, frozen peas...
i try always having fresh stuff but it's nice to pack the frozen/canned kinds if you can't get to the store.
edit: the person below makes an excellent point, i should have mentioned that i only buy organic canned things, they don't add anything. i was pleasantly surprised to discover that they don't cost more than non-organic brands.

Whenever possible, opt for frozen. Canned have a lot of salt and sometimes other additives.
You can freeze fresh veggies yourself. Just flash freeze on a tray and seal in freezer bags - then you know exactly what you are eating.

Frozen are perfect for using in stir fries and etc. It depends on what you're planning to make. You could get frozen green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, and peas, and then get canned beans and tomatoes.
