Does my chinchilla have an eye infection?
I was on vacation for two weeks and had my aunt and my cousin take care of my chinchilla, Sesamee, while I was gone. When I came back, I noticed something off about her left eye. She seems to not open her left eye as wide as her right, and the fur around her left eye is matted. I'm really worried. Is this an eye infection, and should I take her to a vet?
She is acting normal, eating normally. Nothing seems wrong with her behavior. It's just her left eye that's concerning me.
Thanks!

The same thing happened with my Degus last summer that I was watching patches had the same problem. What you do is you massage it with warm water in circuler motions from one side of the eye to the other were the problem occurs next go down the nose from the corner of her eye. Of it doesn't get better within a wekk take her to the vet.
