Wanna add a 12" Sub to my truck..how can I get this to work?

I currently have 2 Kicker Comp 10's wired in parallel bridged to an amp that is pushing them with 400 Watts. I want to add a 12" Kicker Comp VR to my set up.

My thought is to have an amp that can push the 10's as they are (in parallel and bridged) and add the 12, so it gets 400 watts, but only use one amp.

Can this be done as I have described it? Any suggestions for an amp? I've looked on Crutchfield but am not finding one that fits my needs.

Lastly, my current headunit has 4 pre-amp outputs...well 2 inputs and 2 outputs. Would I have to get a new headunit?

Thanks!

    4 ohm comps or 8?

Brand and model of amp would be helpful too.

Regardless, you're going to seriously complicate things mixing subs and sizes, the expense and hassle to adequately power them will not pay off.

Either add a 3rd comp and replace the amp with something capable of driving all 3, or replace the 10's with a pair of cvr 12's, which will also require a different amp if you want them to perform to their potential.

400 watts into 2 subs makes 200 watts per sub no matter how you slice it every time you add a sub the power is divided. and then you have the whole ohms law so if the amps max load is output at 2 ohms and your 2 subs in parralel are at a 2 ohm resistence your amp is full power divided by 2 subs.... there is no way to add another sub to that equation and get it the full 400 watts and also there is no way to and another sub and keep the impedance load at 2 ohms. and you should never mix different ohm subs either. you must get a sepperate amp for the 12. sorry for the news
