Two of the last real punk bands?

I thought Leftover Crack was bound to be mentioned here. Idle Hands was really good! Blag the Ripper was good too , very Stoogey.

The Dwarves are pretty good.

My thoughts on modern punk music is people try too hard to sound "punk" nowadays. Nothing nowadays will compare to older punk (The Germs, Youth of Today, The Ramones, etc). And most of it is pop punk, not real punk rock. Besides, real punk rock has died (well, some bands are still representing it). Like; Bad Religion, NOFX, The Bouncing Souls, With Honor, Casey Jones, and others. Despite what people say about With Honor or Casey Jones, I love them.

And, AFI did start out as hardcore punk. And has experimented with punk rock and horror punk. But now still play some older songs, but their last record was their first "rock" record.

Those were great. Murder City Devils have a Misfits feel with their vocals (rockabilly like), The Dwarves start out sounding like the Stooges then kick up the speed for an awesome end.

So glad you posted this; I've never listened to them before. Maybe i'll start.

Edit: well, i listened to some more Dwarves songs, and they actually are a bit poppy...

There are hundreds of punk bands out there, they just aren't mainstream. Check out Disco Lepers and the duel for a very 77 style band.

i think modern punk music is good. but i think you and me have a different definition of "modern punk music"

Dwarves are good.

I listen too the Distillers and transplants not punk punk but better than some of the other modern offerings.Mostly 70s early 80s punk i listen too.

i think maybe NOFX and MXPX around there somewhere, not blink182 or A f i or bands like that, around '96 or something like that. Pre- x-games
