Some model kits do come with some of the paints required, as far as I'm aware they all come with decals, some with two or three sets of alternate decals. It will depend on how much detail you want to include when you build your model as to how many different paints you will need. The type of kit you are making will also determine what size brushes you will need. If there is a lot of fine detail you will need a variety of small brushes ( 00, 0, 1, 2 ) but if there are larger areas then bigger brushes or an airbrush will be needed. Also consider modelling filler, glue, masking fluid fine sandpaper trimming knife etc. your model shop should be able to give you further advice, or look out for books and magazines for further tips and techniques. Happy modelling
