If a fellow found a suspicious package, and it appeared to make florescent light bulbs glow (unplugged)?

I might just be wrong (I live on a hill and wind occasionally moves the microwave towers across town just enough to make things untoward, perhaps).

Who should he contact ? I have tried to find a geiger counter at the University to check this out, and I've tried the local Police (they refereed me to the University).

The fellow running the ROTC was out and I've an appointment here in town so I went back to Bangor.

The Physics department is on summer hours and so the clubs aren't active and the fellow who has charge of such equipment was not there.

I don't know as I want to make a Federal Case out of this for fear of further irritating the business community, who might successfully chose to eliminate "poor" citizens, rather than go out of business.

I have been put in a shallow grave with a bullet in my head by fellows working for such a firm in years past. I had not put two and two together that THIS might have been a reason. A local judge sued this firm ~ as she was taken from the parking lot of that firm WITH ME, and both of us crawled out of our shallow graves together. There were other graves nearby.

That was just outside of Brewer Maine.

Allot of people use drugs; a manager who buys stuff on the black market might not be less likely to be a customer of Al Qa`ida and a BAD CITIZEN than your humble author MAD AS A HATTER.

If the manager of a local store is distributing Al Qa`ida procured hazardous waste to children perhaps a consensus is required so-as to promote better stewardship, rather that lone individual confrontation with what Al Qa`ida will have made a financially successful and well protected (likely as yet unknowing) traitor to our community's and nation's long term interests, and most vulnerable citizens.

This is not the first incidence of such a discovery ! There were after all one million of these built. I know, it's absurd.

I was involved in defense work in my youth, and every example of this type of device was stolen from my firm.

We built and subsequently lost approx. 1,000,000 of these (way too many were built due to a mistake, following a death in the family). They appear to be "normal" devices and have shown up at times on the shelves of retailers. But they were built for NASA, and have a mild radiological profile due to what their intended use was. They are just enough radioactive enough to be a bit "dirtier" than they had ought to be, especially if put into long term contact with children.

Specifically, this item is a tent that appear to be child sized camping equipment with a "silvered" (oxidized aluminium) coating and a red top and front panel and a black floor. On the hazardous type this coating is NOT normal aluminium as one might believe if one casually inspects the device.

These were to have been offered as an Apollo Astronaut's temporary shelter. The purpose was to improve an Astronaut's suit's battery life as well as to allow for rest during long expeditions on the moon. Obviously, a million of these would never have been needed even if NASA had purchased them.

The very odd thing is that as a joke, in order to improve crew psychology, there was a picture of a child camping on earth with one on the box, and NOTHING that labeled the tent as a POTENTIAL HAZARD. Astronauts love a good joke. And these were a HAZARD, even to Astronauts, but in a Space suit one that was null-ed out to a large extent by the Suit they would wear while inside the shelter.

If you have such a tent, and the kid is not happy sleeping in it because it "feels weird" or itchy; please follow this inquire as to who to tattle on too, and etc. (the tent will cause mild irritation and radiation induced confusion or other neurological symptoms as blood cells will die causing mild strokes and or oxygen deprivation ~ with long term exposure sterility or worse can be an end result).

Hopefully, we will get through this together.

I suspect you need to contact a mental hospital. No joke. Hey, if you're not crazy you'll just have a friendly chat and then be on your way.

If you're not delusional, then I don't know, maybe contact the Consumer Products Safety Commission about the tents? It's hard to tell what you're talking about. EPA about the mysterious package? FBI if you think it's a weapon of some sort.
