Some questions about Gardisil?

I got my first Gardisil shot yesterday. I screamed and cried from the pain of it. At first I googled to see if the pain was increasingly worse with each shot, but ended up finding out more than i knew. I refuse to get my others because the pain was ridiculous and the risks are way too high.

Is there any side affects to just the first shot? & What does each shot specifically cover?

I'm 13 and have completed all of my Gardasil vaccinations over the course of the last year. They really didn't hurt that much for me. What you need to do is tell the nurses at the front desk that you had a bad experience the first time with Gardasil, and that you would like a gentler nurse. Usually the gentler they are the faster they will be. People think that a shot that is given slowly hurts less. That is false. Just remember that cervical cancer is a lot more painful then 3 shots. I have a very low pain tolerance, and usually shake when getting one. I would suggest that you lie down, stare at the ceiling (NOT AT THE NEEDLE), and take deep breaths. Listen to music, sing a song in your head, or count the ceiling tiles. Talk to a nurse, or take a friend with you. And know that Gardasil is considered the most painful shot of them all, so if you can get through one of them you can get through any other ones. The pain does not increase with each one, so don't worry.

if you dont get the other two then the first one goes to waste...you have to get three for it to work and they all hurt about the same amount...all the same

Source(s): someone who got all three...not that big of a deal at least not worth crying over
