Dust sticks to vehicle paint job?
i just repainted my pickup and a put a gloss clearcoat on it. i can wash it and dry it and drive it around and dust will stick to it. like its just attracted to it or something. is there static electricity or something that causes the dirt to be attracted to it. it never did this with the paint that was on it before i repainted it. i could go weeks without it getting dirty. is there a wax or something or another clearcoat that i can apply that will prevent this ????

yea I noticed that on mine too. Dont worry about it there is little you can do anyway it takes 30 days for the paint to cure, so once the paint has done curing you can put a couple of good coats of wax on it and it will take care of that. I looked up some thing one time years ago and tt has to do with positive and negative bits attracting each other so the dust being negatively charged, is attracted to your positively charged paint job. It wont hurt anything just be sure and use plenty of water when you do wash it. and wax it down the road.

Did you let paint dry completely before clear coat and then let clear coat dry. Also is clear coat compatible with paint. If all this done right buy a good wax and see what happens. Are you sure it's dust and not pollen. See if it's on windshield too.

The problem is you probably have not wet sanded the finished clear coat
it needs to be fine sanded with approx 1000 wet and dry then finish with 1500
then polished with a buffer ,then finally wax or polish if you want to.

collinite cleaner wax is the best wax on the market in my opinion. its made in utica ny people come from all over the state to get it. http://www.autogeek.net/collinite.html?gclid=CLWmn... but when you apply it less is more. a small dot will do an entire quarter panel.
