In The Nine Lives of Chloe King are Chloe and Alek related?

In the Books Amy speculates the Chloe and Alyec may be related because they are both from Russia. Chloe dismisses the speculation because Russia is a big country. Further there is the matter of the last names. In the book Chloe’s birth mother is named Anastasia Leon. Alyec’s last name is ilychovich. Also, Alyec’s branch is from St Petersburg, while Chloe’s branch came from Abkhazia in Georgia near the Black Sea. It is possible they are related but if they are it is probably more distant that second cousins.

On the TV show we really do not know exactly where Alek and Chloe are from or the sir name of Chloe’s birth mother. But you need to remember that this is ABC Family. While ABC has aired some controversial subject matter like the Secret Life.., a brother and sister making out, even if they do not know the fact that they are related, would probably be over the line for ABC Family.

So, the possibility that Chloe and Alek are closely related, like Brother and sister, is so small that
