For people who thinks insects are not animals, explain why?
I want an explanation as to why insects are not animals. Where is your source? Just because they are not animals is not a good enough reason. And what makes an animal, an animal? Just for the record I already know insects are animals. This is for those who thinks insects are not.
@M. J Lim - Just to let you know insects are not the only animals that flies. Bats and most birds can fly too. Insects also roam far, in and on the ground and in the wild.

I believe insects are animals, because they are. I found it pretty amusing when on a British soap called Emmerdale, a man who was supposed to be a vet was singing to a baby and he sang "The animals went in 3 by 3, the wasp, the ant and the bumblebee.... well... technically speaking none of those are animals...". I found it pretty hilarious.
A lot of people are uneducated about wildlife. In my dad's line of work, he often sees people who don't come from very good backgrounds to say the least. He often sees people who don't know what magpies, squirrels, and other animals are.
Just thought I should say that.

Many people confuse the term "animals" with the term "mammals". They speak of "birds and animals". They lack the broader understanding of "animals" as any living thing that is classified in the animal kingdom.
