It depends on the guy. I enjoy it when guys put themselves out there like that because it shows that they actually have the confidence to ask. If you sit there stuttering it's kind of cute but not something I'd date. Actually reminds me of my nephew asking for a cookie. I'd leave out the attractive bit and get to know her and see if outside of work you still think the same way. Then try for the romance.
Remember that at work most places take the sexual harassment policies seriously and ease into it. Don't make it awkward until you know for sure she's into you.
