Why does everyone hate Nickelback?
Serious question here. I'm not saying I like their music, but I can tolerate them. I really don't get why everyone hates them though. To me, it just seems like a "band wagon" thing. Everyone hates them only because others do. And people's reasoning isn't valid or good.
1. All their music sounds the same and is formula...Yeah so does rihanna, linkin park, katy perry, disturbed and MOST artists today.
2. The lead singer guy is a douche...Yeah so is kanye west, but people can't get enough of him.
3. They're sellouts. Well anytime any artist becomes hugely popular, the entire world calls them a sell out. So that's stupid.
Usually people say "they suck because they do!"... I'm really starting to think it IS a bandwagon effect. Unless there's a real valid reason why people hate nickelback?

personally i love nickelback and i think chad kroeger is the sexiest man alive, but most people dont like them because they say their lyrics arent creative or deep enough. and they're right on the edge of classic rock and stuff like drowning pool and acdc.... its rock, but not quite hard enough for a lot of people =P

It's like you say, people hate them as a trend because others do - typical sheep following the crowd in fear of being singled out.
It really is the only reason why. i've asked people to genuinely give me a reason and they can't say anything except that "they're sh*t" - which is neither a reason or a valid opinion.
If they're not your usual cup of tea, then fair enough, you just don't like them. Music is like your taste buds with food, everyone likes and dislikes different things.
To call a band sh*t when they've had - platinum album success / sold out venues and tours / play, sing and record in tune - has no justifable grounds and does not come down to personal opinion. It only shows that you're a sheep and incapable of having your own personal opinion.

Most POP artists sound the same because apparently they're supposed to. Nickelback is classified as rock so it's expected of them to come up with something different everytime.

While looking through articles like this I have noticed that many people seem to say that all their songs sound the same, but the complete opposite of this is why they are my favourite band to listen to. I find that have have a good mix of much heavier songs with more upbeat music. Take for example songs like 'When we stand together' compared to a song like 'Midnight Queen' the difference is amazing, 'Midnight Queen' being more metal and 'When we stand together' more your classic Rock song. I feel that to many people hate them to be cool and don't judge for themselves. And if after listening to their music you dislike them I have no problem with that but don't just jump on the bandwagon without listening for yourselves.

I don t understand why there is such a hatred for Nickelback. I for one love their music. But I see that is dwindling.
