What is the best place to live between Detroit downtown and Ann Arbor. I have a year old baby and im looking?

for a family friendly place between the two cities. Thanks.

    Gross Point is actually on the other side of Detroit from Ann Arbor, Royal Oak is north of it...Hell is actually an idyllic little place (yes, it's a real town) but it's north of Ann Arbor. Northville would be a nice compromise between those spots, Plymouth and parts of Livonia as well.

    yes, Detroit is crazy if you're not from there or if you don't know the right people. the economy has been wayyyy down since probably the late '90s, and the crime rates are very high, ranging from murder, to car jacking, to armed robbery, rape, etc...the only place i'd have to say where i haven't seen Detroit that bad is downtown. it's more industrial and you can do more down there without having to watch your back as much, but don't get too relaxed! haha

    Ypsilanti, Wayne, Melvindale, Allen Park, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Westland, Garden City, and Livonia. i live an hour north of detroit and if i were you i would move closer to Ann Arbor for safety.

    The only place even remotely close to Detroit I would want to be is Gross Point.

    hartland, brighton area. If you can buy a house near Dunham lake in Hartland, You can go to the private beaches. Clean lake.
