Why does nearly everyone hate Dale Jr.?

Don't hate him. I just think he's overrated, but that's not really his fault, I'm kind of indifferent to him.

I do not hate Dale Jr, I just get upset that he will not try anymore to win races.

You know the last time I saw Dale Jr try to win a race was in Daytona for the 500 in 2010 when he finished second, that was the last time I saw him race it like he wanted that win, but what have we seen so far not a gosh darn thing!

I love him would ever hate on him, he is my guy, but it is time he gets the wake up call he deserves!

Edit: Matt i told him how I felt on his Fan page to his face, I also told him how I felt at Michigan in 2010, and he said to me " Well sorry you feel that way Darling, but your wrong!" So I am not chicken to tell my driver what I think about him sorry to burst your bubble matt!

I dont hate him or anybody!!! I have been on here for 4 years and the hate questions run rampant---You are exactly right Micheal it is the Tv announcers fault-----ESPN--FOX--TBS-ABC OR whoever covers the race they give Jr way too much publicity and airtime for what he has accomplished in his career. Most Nascar race fans are just fed up with the Biased coverage and hearing about him all the time. Its a slap in alot of Fans faces when their driver is hardly mentioned Before--during or after the race, Its the same old JR JR JR----before the race--on the pace laps--during the race--and after the race!!!!! They interview him when he comes in 11th place--even before the 3rd and 4th place finishers. What other driver do they do this for? This sound familiar LOOK OUT RACE FANS DALE JR IS CHARGING TO THE FRONT HE JUST PASSED BOBBY LABONTE FOR 19TH PLACE!!!!! What other driver gets this coverage? Then throw in the commercials!!!!!!----He is voted most popular year in and year out But WE KNOW HOW THAT WORKS ( HIS FANS WITH MULTIPLE INTERNET IDS VOTE MULTIPLE TIMES) THE TV announcers egg alot of this stuff on by cramming Jr. down the Public throat. These are my reasons people dislike him but I dont hate him---18 Sprint Cup wins and 0 Championships in 13 years does not make a SUPERSTAR!!!!!!!

I agree with most of what's been said here. He is over inflated by NASCAR. He sells tickets and merchandise. He slowed down when Sr passed. He does not have what use to push him anymore. If you didn't know he started racing to get dads approval.Someone will get his mind right one day and he will drive again. If fans don't quit him first.

I don't hate him. I get fed up with some of his more zealous fans, but I get fed up with other drivers' overzealous fans too.

You see so much hate for him here on Y/A because a) haters tend to be more vocal and b) Jr fans are an easy target for trolls. The same people tend to post over and over, so you don't get a lot of variety in opinion.

I don't hate him, he is a clean racer compared to his father. It's just that Jr. is the most overrated driver on the Nascar circuit and the racing media keeps telling us about how 'GREAT' he his..when the truth is: he isn't.

I forgot who was coming out behind Jr. during driver introductions (WGI)...but Jr. comes out and shakes hands with the line up...then stops and chats with whoever was on the end...the next driver comes out and has to wait while Jr. finishes chatting with whoever...someone from the stands yells "Jr. get off the stage"...some fans laughed some fans got ticked.... (Actually it was just a selfish move like it was all about him even though he qualified poorly). Then on the third lap there is always the idiots who raise the three fingers like Jr. can see them and think "WOW AWESOME". lol

Jr. does some dumb stuff like all the drivers but it's his fans, or some of them, who elevated him to a god that makes me shake my head and snicker.

I actually don't want to see Jr. fall out of the chase. Truely and for real.

people think that success directly affects popularity, which is incorrect. so when you have a guy (Dale Jr) who is extremely popular, but hasnt won in 3 years, people dont think about other factors causing the popularity (personality, etc) and go straight to thinking he's overrated. they also feel that opening supporting Dale Jr means you're an unrealist idiot. that is why everyone hates Junior

Those who hate on Earnhardt, on this page anyway, hate anybody that anybody else likes, just to stir the pot. A lot of fans apparently love him out of all proportion, and Earnhardt, probably on orders from Messrs France and Helton, won't tell these people to get a life. To the extent that Earnhardt is hated, and I don't think it's THAT much, it's down to Junior Nation.

I started to like Jr. when I witnessed him win at Gateway when he was on his way to his 1st of 2 Nationwide Championships! Waaay before he entered Cup where he used to win every other weekend!

I dont hate him I just like Denny Hamlin better!

Jr. is my second favorite.
