03 RANGER DOOR AJAR / DOME LIGHT?
I JUST PURCHASED A 03 RANGER FOR MY SON. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON CONSTANTLY, I ALREADY REPLACED BOTH JAMB SWITCHES WITH NEW AND THE LIGHT STILL STAYS ON AND THE DOME REMAINS ON FOR ABOUT 5 TO 10 MINUTES AFTER EXITING....WHERE TO GO NOW?

If you have already replaced both door locking mechanisms, then you have a wire grounded out somewhere. The first thing I would do is see if the short is in the door or under the dash. Open the door, (either one) and at the hinge side you will see the electrical connector. Loosen the screw on the top until the connector separates. If the bell and idiot light go out, you will know that there is a short in that door. If that doesn't work, put it back together and try the other one. If the bell doesn't turn off, the short will be behind the kick panel or under the dash.
