what does the im feeling lucky button on google do?

i have always seen it, but i have no clue what that button does.

    When you search something on google the im feeling lucky takes u to the first avaliable link

    The button automatically goes to the #1 page people have visited based on your search.

    Before instant search, it would take you to the first site available, whether you type in the full URL or not.

    Now, we really don't need it anymore.

    It goes straight to the first website that would have come up when you search it.
