Well, I am not Chinese. I am an American living in Guangzhou, China.
Yes the internet is censored. No Youtube. No Face book. No IMDB. No Twitter. And many many more Blocked. Even if you go to Wikipedia, they have blocked several articles on that.
Getting coughed is not the issue. Many Chinese are on here saying not so great things about China. What the Chinese government does not want is an UPRISING. They can't control 1.3 Billion people. They are more concerned with a group effort. Not individuals. This is why LARGE SOCIAL SITES like youtube, facebook and twitter are blocked. Those sites can get MANY people together in a fast time. In China now they protest all the time. Against work issues. Housing Issues and many many more. I just saw the other day 300 or so Chinese workers with picket signs outside a factory. But like most countries protesting is only about the few. Most people in China go about their own business. Living, working, taking care of the family. But I am sure The Chinese government has it's eye on several sites. But if the random Chinese person writes a "not so nice" blurb about China, it will for the most part go unnoticed.
Any Chinese.. I welcome to see your comments...

Outside of Hong Kong & Macau the rest of China now has very high levels of Internet censorship. Most expats living in the country now have a VPN installed on their computer so that they can not only unblock all of the many blocked sites but also access western TV sites that are otherwise blocked such as BBC, ITV & NBC channels online.

Well, you most likely would get in trouble for going against your government. They are no longer Communist, they are moving toward capitalism. But there is "internet police" that will delete negative comments on forums within minutes. So it wouldn't be as horrible as a crime as it would be in, say, North Korea. But judging as they have no access to internet, media, or cellular devices as does China, it wouldn't be common. So yes, excluding Hong Kong, Chinese internet is mildly censored.

yeah, some websites are censored . like youtube twitter facebook,
but it's still not too bad for average people, if u post something against the government, you'll never be put in jail, at most, i mean at most, your words will be deleted, not one's gonna find you and charge you for anything , leave alone getting caught.
