Is it time for the Lakers to trade Kobe Bryant?
I think its time for the Lakers to trade him. He's no longer an elite NBA player, and in my personal opinion not good enough to be the best player on a team anymore at this stage of his career. The contract they gave him is ridiculous! Paying a player 30 mil a year when he's past his prime. That won't allow them to sign good young free agents. The Lakers are not really contenders anymore if you think about it, so I think they should trade Kobe to a contender like the Bulls, Knicks, Heat, Mavs, or an up and coming team like the Grizzlies, Blazers, or someone else, and in return get some good young pieces, and draft picks. This way Kobe can at least play for a contender in his last couple years, and the Lakers get his contract off, and get a chance to rebuild sooner than later.
What do you think?

LMAO, Do you even watch basketball?
Kobe clearly still the best play on Lakers, he is
the only play on the team (maybe besides Odom)
that can Create his own shot and make clutch plays.
besides. Dr. J. Buss is not going to give up Kobe after
what he has done for the Lakers Organization. not only
his jersey will be retired (#24) and he probably going to
get a statue outside of staple.
P.S Kobe is on no trade clause so he is not going any where.

Kobe has a no-trade clause in his contract, so he's not going to another team unless he agrees to it. I don't see him leaving LA voluntarily.
You're also writing off the Lakers way too early. I don't see why they can't be strong contenders for the title for the next 2-3 years. Dallas eliminated the Lakers last season, but the Mavs are a pretty old team themselves. So are the Spurs. And those talented young teams still haven't proved they have what it takes to win it all.
I agree with you that his contract is ridiculous, but it really doesn't impact the Lakers on the free agent market. LA is so far over the salary cap that even if Kobe played for free the Lakers wouldn't be able to sign any free agents. And one thing Kobe does do is keep Staples Center sold out and those celebrities paying thousands of dollars for their tickets.

No way. That may be good for kobe but not the lakers. Granted he may be at his peak, but the lakers need to bring in young talent for kobe to mentor in his remaining years. And I think he has 1 maybe 2 more seasons of being an elite nba player. Personally I think they need to trade bynum for a decent point guard.

No, Kobe is the face of the Lakers franchise and still a great player, all he needed was rest to heal himself from injuries. Now he will be fine, the Lakers will still contend. Why do u sound like Cyrusman, because he basically said the same thing u did.

He is not an elite player anymore ? Really ? Do you even watch basketball ? Just because they make a second round exit in the 'offs, suddenly he's no longer fit to be an elite player OR franchise player ? WOW ... I guess any of the other elite players and franchise players who don't make it to the finals don't deserve to hold their status.
Hell, if it wasn't for Gasol disappearing for the second part of the season and then continuing to shrink for the playoffs, they'd be looking at a possible threepeat. But no, you choose to spend your focus on one of the TWO guys who brought their 'Game' to the playoffs in the Lakers roster.
Well done. Nice troll topic.

I can not stand this wuss BUT no trading him is a huge mistake. You got to be kidding in saying he is no longer an elite player. He is still the best or top 3 in the NBA right now. You wouldn't last one day as a gm.

as long as Phil Jackson is in l. a., this would not make sense. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, enable's pretend that Phil leaves and the Triangle Offense dissolves: human beings tend to forget approximately chemistry. The Lakers are equipped around Kobe, or perhaps although Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony are staggering gamers, neither does what Kobe does for the Lakers. Kobe is a distraction to his warring parties and could draw lots of interest in terms of scoring. He can heavily flow on a rampage devoid of having a single huge-open shot. Chris Paul can not try this, although he's a large passer. Carmelo Anthony can try this. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, the similarities supply up there. as quickly as Kobe attracts lots of interest, he's in possibility of make performs for his teammates. it is one guy which you will desire to stress approximately and that's lots of interest that he's drawing. Carmelo will draw lots of interest, yet he isn't any playmaker by ability of any ability. Chris Paul is, yet back, it is in fact what he does. he's not in possibility of blow up in terms of scoring. it may extremely shrink to rubble Pau Gasol's interest, who's the 2nd greatest stress at the back of the Lakers' championship runs.
