Is it alcoholic?? Fermented orange juice.?

When pasturized orange juice, either in a carton after being opened or made from canned concentrate, is left in the fridge for a couple of weeks it ferments. The same happens with other opened pasturized sweet fruit juices, Is this fermentation alcoholic? If not what are the fermentation products produced?.

Orange juice can spontaneously ferment, particularly if left open, even in the refrigerator. this suggests that some sort of microorganism is in there ingesting the orange juice - it ought to not be your prevalent wine/beer fermentation and at this degree it in all probability is not greater healthful for intake. whether, confident, there may well be a sugar to alcohol conversion going on in there. you have in all probability in no way heard of orange wine, and that's because of the fact fermented orange juice tastes noticeably foul.

Yes. The alcohol is formed by enzymes acting on the sugars in the fruit juice, just as in wine.

It would taste better if it were filtered first or give it time to settle.
