Try No Greater Sacrifice
When feisty archaeologist Renée d'Arcadia is summoned to France to take part in the reading of a will, she is plunged into a maelstrom of deceit and destruction to solve a 100-year-old mystery originating from a sinister church where nothing is as it seems. Renée joins forces with David Arturo, an ex-helicopter pilot with a troubled past, to interpret clues cleverly hidden in tombstones and classic works of literature to find artifacts scattered across Europe. Racing against time, Renée and David must overcome their inner demons to outmaneuver a network of evil bent on destroying them. What they find in each other just might provide answers to some of mankind's oldest myths.

I love all the same book you do.
I just started the maximum ride books not to long ago, if your interested in Hunger Games, Twilight, Harry Potter and stuff like that, The Maximum Ride book series by James Patterson is a really good read.
Source(s): Im a little bite of a book worm, me and my school librarian always keep in touch with books we read, she loves the type of books I enjoy as well, she introduced me to The hunger Games and Maximum Ride. - Anonymous10 years ago
The best series I've ever read that my sister suggested to me (I'm a dude and we both LOVED the series) is Midnighters by Scott Westerfield. It is about a 25th hour when all time freezes except for 5 kids in a certain town and they spend a large portion of the series figuring out WHY it happens to them. There is romance in it but basically it is just the absolute most amazing 3 books I've ever read.

My favorite book series is maximum ride by James Patterson. He rights amazingly and max(the main character) has a hilarious personality. Yes there is some romance in it but don't go looking for it on every page. There's a lot of drama in the last 2 books but a lot of action in every single word of every single book. If you want one with equal amounts of action and drama/romance, then look for the gallagher girl series by ally carter. Those are both great series but I'm a very different person so if you don't like either than I'm sorry i couldn't have been any help.

the "Mortal Instruments" definitely, First book "City of Bones" , vampires, demon hunters, were-wolfs, warlocks, demons, fair folk, and a girl stuck in the middle of a war between them
Not as much romance as the twilight books but more action
I have read all of those and Mortal Instruments is definitely my favorite
They are making it a movie and are in the middle of casting for it right now
Also you can read "Gregor the Overlander" Same writer as the hunger games I personally liked it better almost no romance though
P.S don't waste your time with Mocking Jay in my opinion it was a rushed ending and ruined the whole series for me.

How about The Magicians by Lev Grossman, or The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. Both pretty gripping, with a bit of romance, mystery and all that good stuff!

1) the summoning series- about a girl who is a necromancer (sees ghosts) it was really good.
2) Percy Jakson- you probably already read it but it's amazing. I learned so much from it and it was HALARIOUS.
3) tigers curse- it's not girl and it has romance. It's suprsisingly good and the deeper you get into the series the better it is.

Try the Skulduggery Pleasant series, in the fifth book I think there's a bit of romantic interest, and maybe in the fourth book too? :L

I really like "Chronicles of Ancient Darkness" by Michelle Paver. Good story line, and great descriptions! it may not be "Girly" but hey, it's something interesting enjoyed by both guys and girls!
~Hope I helped.
