If you want a basic device that does:

    email

    internet

    banking

    basic word processing

    and is fast, reliable.

Get an iPad. It only costs $499 and you can do everything you want to do on it.

On top of that, it's fast, it has a Dual core A5 processor, and it has 12 HOURS of battery life.

It's light and thin, making it pretty portable.

Another reason is that it won't get viruses, and is a very reliable device. It's the only device I know of that can have 40+ applications running, and still not feel slow. It's easy to learn. And if you really want a keyboard that you can use to type on the iPad, just buy the dock/keyboard stand

    Get a Google Chromebook!

These laptops (from Google) were made specifically for the reasons you have!

    Prices start at 350 dollars.
