if the health care reform law has been ruled unconstitutional, why isnt both parties working on it right now?

why are both party's going to do nothing about it till the election is over in 14 months.

isn't that insane to leave a broken government in that shape for over a year, just so neither side gets bad press.

what are you going to do about it.

doesn't america deserve a working government

You dont understand what is going on. There were a couple dozen lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the legislation and thus far 3 of 6 have been ruled in part unconstitutional by lower courts. After the other cases are heard and rulings handed down, they proceed to the higher court. Meanwhile, the provisions are going ahead year by year as proscribed.

I highly doubt in the end it will be repealed on those grounds since the President himself is a Constitutional scholar and had lots of feedback before signing the bill. I am sure they examined every aspect of it. The backward Republican politicians are trying to get re-elected and trying to get that neanderthal cave man Perry elected so they want to make the opposition look bad and will try anything.

The Affordable Health Care Act will never be found unconstitutional because it isn't. Only a few Southern states, with some really dumb Judges, are claiming it is unconstitutional and they have already lost. That is like saying people prefer being turned down by insurance companies because of a preexisting condition because the government is assisting in their suicide. Parents don't want their terminally ill children covered by affordable heath care because they want to be in debt all their lives. These two groups were turned down by big insurance companies before this bill was passed. They couldn't even buy it if they wanted to. Americans want a National heath care they can afford and won't get kicked off if they get sick.

I agree we deserve a working government but they are failing us because the republican congress refuses to compromise.

They're waiting for it to go to the Supreme Court.

Having the Dems work on it would signal that they know it is unconstitutional and think it won't pass the smell test. Which would be a huge defeat for them and Obama. And the Republicans won't spend time on something that won't get any attention from Dems.

It's in limbo. There have been several rulings on this by several Federal courts, all of them have differed in their interpretation of the legality of 0bamaCare.

This won't be settled until 0bamaCare goes before the Supreme Court. Estimate is sometime late next year.

Individual states have ruled them unconstitutional for their specific states, which means that the issue isn't a national issue, its being handled in the place where it belongs. At the state level.

It has been ruled both constitutional and unconstitutional. The issue will not be settled until the SCOTUS rules on the issue.

if the republicans in the house do something, the senate will shut it down, if it gets through the senate, the president will shut it down, and the democrats in the senate and the president sure aren't going to take the initiative to kill it themselves, so even though it would be a good PR move for the republicans in the house, they won't do it because they know it doesn't have a chance in hell of passing.

It's only been ruled unconstitutional in a couple states. It's a federal law.

It will have to be ruled unconstitutional by the supreme court to be nullified.

I'm not going to do anything about it. I think it is constitutional.

If it were ruled unconstitutional, I think there might be a news story on it.
