a question for LBGT people who went to Italy, were you treated unfairly?
They always say that the grass is greener on the other side, and I've often heard from LGBT people who moved away from there that they are treated much better overseas and in several countries (like the UK) there is less homophobia and transphobia...
But I'd like to hear about foreign LGBT people who went to Italy for holiday or to live here...did you find a big difference with the treatment you received? Did you experience more discrimination, and in general did you have a very negative impression or not, and did you feel like you were treated unfairly? Is it so much different in there from other countries?

I don't think there are great differences between Italy and other western countries, probably a difference of outlook can be between rural areas and big cities....in the lasts the condition of LBGT people is probably better.
Anyway don't hearken to those who say that Italy is conservative and catholic country....Italy have had and has even gay ministers and governors, even a trangender deputy. It's not a puritan country as it's usually depicted in America.

I lived 35 years in Italy. Honestly there is not much difference there from the rest of Europe.
Bye.
