Philippina Status Question ????
This may be to obivious a question but what is the meaning of Status to them It has to be more than just social status but im lost ,Not that im considering this one but I am 63 and have had 16 and 17 yr old KIDS want me to live with them there to improve their status ?? But not one has explained it yet,There has to be more to it ?
To be honest I am considering a 23 yr old.

Hey John,
I hope all is well with you. I think by "status", it means the conditions of their habitat as it relates to some kind of visa. An immigration agent might ask them, "what is your current living status". They may respond with, "I'm living with relatives while I look for a job", or, I'm living with a man taking care of his home and he is my employer". It's a note on their stability.
Of course, I believe there are some Asians that still associate the family with a class system. That could be anything from simple peasants to an affluent family in their territory or region.
That's my best guess. The next best thing to do would be to pry it out of them. :)
