What's the difference between a small silkie chicken and a large pet bird?

The city says I can't have a pet silkie chicken, but I can have a large pet bird. How can I fight this legally and win so I can keep my chicken?

Have you looked up your city's ordinances yourself? You would be amazed at just how many city officials & employees have no clue of what is actually on the books. You might want to consider talking to your city council members & finding out if any of them are ammenable to allowing chickens in the future. Then, you could submit a proposal to the city council. Another thing you could do is check into whether there is a Right to Farm Act in your state or even start a petition or facebook group dedicated to changing the law in your city to allow chickens. Becoming more self sufficient & knowing our food sources is becoming more & more popular everyday & there are quite a few cities/towns that have had to change because of citizens petitioning or requesting changes. Lots of good luck.

Those are mostly feeder terms. Some people need a different size to feed to their snakes. That being said there is only one breed of pet rat but there are different coat and ear types. Obviously color are different as well but it's all the same breed. The only difference would be dwarf rats which I have once seen in a pet store. Some rats are large, or smaller, than others...just like humans. Though if you want a good quality rat go to a breeder instead of a pet store, because then you know the kind of rat you're getting and know that it's healthy.

Chickens are considered farm animals and most cities have ordinances against farm animals. If you take this to court you will need a lawyer if you can find one to take your case. . You might want to find a legal forum and ask there.
