No doctor would be dumb enough to tell his patient to start smoking pot. Chances are it's going to make it worse. Don't do something stupid like taking illegal drugs.

    edit

Anyone who is telling you it's good for you is an idiot. There is hard facts out there that prove otherwise. There are still some effects that are debated but the effects on the brain are proven.

Hi there. Sorry you're having such a hard time.I myself suffer from bad anxiety too and so I can relate first hand to what you are describing. In response to your question, drugs are definitely most not the answer. People do report that smoking Cannabis can make you feel 'chilled out', but it is not healthy and can provoke horrible symptoms and problems like Depersonalisation and De realisation Disorder, which i suffer from and i can tell you that it is not something you would want to experience it is a nasty nasty thing and if you have anxiety anyway you will be more prone to that sort of thing. In regards to your doctor, no doctor should ever be recommending illegal recreational drugs to someone. Im appalled to be quite honest. Yes its everyones choice but in your case i think, well i KNOW you should steer clear. There are safe prescribed medications you can take to get rid of anxiety from a proper doctor and or psychiatrist so please ask for help from someone; you said you find it difficult talking to your parents, i sympathise, anyone you could talk to or write a letter. Always here if you need advice,

    Regards and Good Luck

I had the same thing a few months ago and it is still affecting me. I had a bad high I felt like my heart was coming out my chest and my adams apple was shrinking so i kept nervously touching it to see how large it was. I then felt like my adams apple was going up my throat but somehow this was really my tonsil stone and i ended up swallowing. My muscles were responding to my mind because it felt so vivid in my mind that i ended up swallowing my dam tonsil stone. This is a bad thing though, tonsil stones are built up mucus anyways, but the fact that weed made me do this was crazy. I couldn't sleep for 2 days and felt a mixture of things like my heart felt liek it was tangling with the nerves in my chest. Ive never been the same after this, I see things in a totally different perspective. I still smoke weed and I realize how I got this bad high even though the side affects have been affecting me for a while now. I inhaled wrongly, I took a huge rip off a bong that was extremely powerful and swallowed alot of the smoke. You arent supposed to swallow smoke ofc and Ive been smoking for years enough to know this, but I did it without knowing. You can still smoke, I still do it and I've never had anything to that extent again and don't think I ever will. Once you experience something like this, how much worse can it get? If you find yourself PHYSICALLY doing something you usally wouldnt be doing, stop and just relax and take a deep breath. I tell myself its all in my head. All I can advise is to do what you enjoy most. I naturally am a worried person and tend to over think things, but I find its easiest to get my mind off these things by doing things to occupy my time. Bad highs tend to happen to people with these traits who are at a stressful point in their lives. Weed is not something you should do when you know you have something to do soon. It is something you should do in leisure when youre bored. Find whatever your hobbies are and do them.

I am so happy, it was only a 35 minute drive ( 70 minutes total) but absolutely no sign of anxiety or panic i shopped till I dropped - brilliant! I will now go for the next stage DUAL CARRIAGE way, probably at the weekend, with my husband accompanying me first then the solo drive, if successful the final stage of driving on motorway

if you already have anxiety it will make it worse unless you change your attitude/outlook.

seriously being in a state of panic (Anxiety) + having a unexperienced alteration that good grass gives will make it worse. panic + change = super panic (maybe panic attacks like my heart is beating everywhere/chest hurts when in fact your pulse is fine and dandy and you wind up at er just cause you freaked out and further give the drug an undeserved bad rep)

you need to see a doc and be on benzo's if you have anxiety/panic. pot is good for PAIN (the chronic kinds opiates barely scratch) and FUN -not panic. well also hunger/nausea - it will seduce you into eating if your sick/a finger swallower.

so no you shouldn't. if you are curious about trying it - understand that whatever you feel or experience isn't real and no one has died from it (except driving and stupid crap)

so take a SINGLE puff and inhale and hold for 10-15 secs. do not repeat irregardless of peer pressure/despite the tempation. you need to start at a low dose for a weaker high and introduce your self to the alteration over weeks and months so as to not FREAK OUT and actually enjoy it. and stay away from hash and oil....thats for the well indoctrinated.

    best of luck

it will help and it's not addictive at all.. weed really isn't bad at all, people that don't know anything about it associate it with all the other harder drugs out there. when you smoke the first time it's going to be a little intense, but basically all weed does is help you relax, you'll be fine.

edit: wow, a lot of 'weed is bad people here'... seriously, try weed before you bash it, it's not even a real drug it's a ******* plant. medicinal marijuana is legal in some states for a reason....
