Why do a lot of people hate Kobe Bryant?

Probably because he has led the Lakers to defeat their favorite team and outplayed their favorite player in the process. Plus, not only does Kobe know that he's better than his opposition, the opposition (and their fans) know it as well.

You can't really blame them though; ten or fifteen years of having their hearts torn out is bound to build up some resentment.

Because he is the king of kings and because they know he is the best and they feel THREANED(grammar)like i hate it when people say wade is the best sg in the nba right now because they had no idea who he was a year ago.also thinking kobe is the goat is an opinion not a fact.and also the lebron riders hate him because he is the only reason lebron is not the ultimate king of the nba.also kobe has everything their team doesnt like cluthness,killer instict,and the will to WIN.and one final thought i HATE IT when people say kobe rode shaq because shaq wouldnt have won anything without KOBE.

I don't hate Kobe. I respect him as a ballplayer. I'm not too impressed by what I've seen of him as a person, but I can say that about a lot of pro athletes. And of course, we don't really know these guys anyway.

My only problem with Kobe is his legions of know-nothing fans who try to portray him as some sort of basketball god who can't be stopped and can do anything he wants to.

He's a very good player, but how can anybody not see how arrogant and cocky he is.. I think the only people who worship him are those who live in L.A. I like him though... but he's just okay for me.

Oh! And this is completely unrelated to basketball - but don't forget about the rape incident many years ago.

I prefer Michael Jordan as a basketball player. Better in sooo many ways. And everyone loves him, even though he's the greatest. People hate Kobe.

People hate on players who have been successful in their careers, it just happens.

I think most people are either jealous, or mad because he has 5 rings. To really answer your question. I have no idea.

Because he's cocky, arrogant, and a great player.(with a couple of glaring weaknesses in his game though, which is the opening for the hate).
