So let me get this down pat. Internet porn is illegal in Austraila, but prostitution is legal?

What in the world created this paradox of law?

Update:

To me it seems like you should have both either legalized or banned at the same time. Not have one or the other excluded as an unpunishable caviet.

Update 2:

I am not looking for change as I am not a citizen of Australia in any case. Just an American trying to grasp what the Aussie standards of law are.

Update 3:

I am sorry for the confusion that my misspelling caused. I meant to indicate that the word that was typed as ''caviet'' was actually intended to be typed as ''caveat'' This word, according to Mirriam and Webster's English dictionary, was meant to take the sense of the primary meaningful defintition; a warning enjoining one from certain acts or practices.

Update 4:

So it is only Victoria, and not the entire country? Anyway I was led to think that internet porn was illegal in Austraila due to certain laws that I red about some years ago that force-regulated ISP providers to filter out ''indecent'' materials. Have the laws regarding this issue been overturned since I first read about them in the following article that was posted in 2008? http://www.zeropaid.com/news/9292/australia_contin...

An unpunishable caviet, eh? Would you care to explain what you think that phrase means? If you're going to try and affect change in public policy, you need to not speak gibberish.

Incidentally, prostitution is only legal in Victoria, not all states.
